The company

Piton HQ LLC is a software development company registered in Georgia. It is the holding and licensing entity: it owns the platforms and licenses them to the operating companies that run them. The building happens in four divisions — Piton Clinical (healthcare), Piton Build (construction), Piton Learn (education) and Piton Staffing (workforce). Clinical and Build are in production, and Learn and Staffing are in development behind them.

The company grew out of building one of these systems rather than out of a plan to sell software. That shapes what we are good at: operational work with real consequences, where the interesting problems are in the data model, the access rules and the reconciliation, and where the screens are the easy part.

Who you work with

Piton is deliberately small. The person who scopes your project is the person who designs it and the person who maintains it afterwards — there is no handoff from the people who understood the problem to the people who write the code, because that handoff is where most of the understanding is lost.

The practical consequence is that we take on few engagements at a time and say so when we are full. It is the trade we have chosen, and we would rather be straightforward about it than sound larger than we are.

Where we are

Georgia, United States. We work remotely with clients elsewhere, and on site during scoping when the work is operational enough that watching it happen beats hearing it described — which, in our experience, is most of the time.
